This category was established to encourage talented young artists in Years 7 and 8 to continue their pursuit in the creative arts in their high school years. The awards are currently being given to students attending Kings School or Remuera Intermediate.
The trust also sponsors events and competitions in the age category open to a wider range of recipients on a case by case basis. Please contact us if you have an event for the trusts consideration.
These travel awards are given to recipients attending their under graduate degree at Whitecliffe. and are based on excellence and or hard work. Students have been fully funded to attend workshops in America and China to date. Airfares and accommodation have been included in the award.
Please contact us to apply for a travel grant or fill out the form within this section. The board will review your application and respond to you.
In many cases the trust works to assist these young students (those still to get an undergraduate degree in the arts) or BFA graduates who need assistance financially to help continue at art school or need the funds to establish themselves in their genre. In 2011 the Trust helped Tara Cunniffe set up her fashion label. Applications should be nominated directly to the trust.
Wikiriwhi scholars are the top BFA undergraduates at Whitecliffe College of Arts & Design. The trust contributes finances to the scholars fund which allows them to visit art galleries, museum and creative exhibitions while they are abroad.
Recipients are nominated by the Academic staff at Whitecliffe.
