The aim of the trust is to provide life-transforming educational experiences in arts, design and crafts through practice, research, and teaching, one which enriches the local surroundings and helps to shape culture through the practice.
The Trust, builds on excellence, innovation and a commitment to creative practices while still engaging the community and supporting others to succeed.
2001 - Art auction of work collected works to establish The Trust along with a donation from Michele Whitecliffe of $20,000 NZD. Sale included notable piece 'Pikiao' now hanging in the Manukau Events Center.
2006 -Additional art works of Greg's were sold and the first Youth Recipient was awarded with funds from The Trust.
2011 -First international travelling scholarship was awarded to Anna Sharman to sponsor trip to Los Angeles to participate in a New Zealand Art Exhibition.
2015 -Website established to promote The Trust ad support further sale of works/funds gathering for recipients.
2017 - Whitecliffe College sold to international owner
2020 - Establishment of Whitecliffe.com to promote the sale of the Whitecliffe Art Collection
2021 - Art Writing Prize established in Association with Auckland Art Gallery
Michele Whitecliffe
Co-Founder of Whitecliffe College of Arts & Design
Michele Co-founded Whitecliffe College with Greg in 1982. She is a member of ICFAD (International Council of Fine Arts Deans). Since the college was founded she has presented various papers/awards and sat on panels globally including Kadir Hus University in Istanbul. She holds Diplomas in Printmaking and a Certificate in Fundraising.
Michele is the primary contact for The Trust.
Penny Guise
Educator & Patron of the Arts
Penny has a background in education and ESOL teaching, she has a strong interest in New Zealand Art and Education

Hayden Whitecliffe
Design & Producer
Hayden is a Technology Designer and Media producer based in Auckland. He holds a Masters Degree in Communications (Advertising) from RMIT University and a Bachelors of Business and Information Management from the University of Auckland.
